Health Visitor
Your named Health Visitor will contact you between day 10-14 to arrange
a home visit. Your Health Visitor is attached to your GP. As well
as your own Health Visitor you have the option of attending the
Health Visitor run Child Health Clinics at:
Monday 1:30-2:30 PM Bilton Grange Health Centre
Wednesday 1:30-3:30 PM Greatfield Clinic
Thursday 1:30-3:00 PM St Margaret's Church, Longhill
This is where you can have your baby weighed and talk to a Health
Visitor about any concerns you may have.
Dental Educator – Tracey
The main aim of Sure Start is to provide children with the best
start in life, and I am here to support local families with their
Dental Health. For example how to find a family Dentist, provide
information on health eating, good brushing techniques and general
information on how to maintain a healthy mouth. Remember prevention
is better than cure!
I can provide Dental Health advice on a 1 to 1 basis, or in an
organised group. My work will involve talking to pregnant mums,
mother and baby clinics, pre-schools classes, nurseries and play
groups.
To contact me phone Sure Start Longhill and Bilton Grange.
Formula milk
Formula milk is available at each clinic. The milk is sold at slightly
reduced prices. You can also exchange milk tokens and purchase your
milk if you are getting benefits. Bilton Grange Health Centre is
open from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday-Friday, and milk can be purchased
there at anytime.
Maternity Grant
You can apply for the Sure Start Maternity Grant of up to £500,
up until 3 months after the birth of your baby if you are receiving
benefits. Health workers will be happy to help you apply for a grant.
After the Birth
Once home with your baby you must register the baby's birth within
6 weeks. This is done at the Registrars Offices, Municipal Buildings,
Carroll Place, Hull, telephone 615400. This will then enable you
to:
- Obtain a Birth Certificate
- Receive a GP registration form
- Apply for Child Benefit (which is available to everyone)
