To Sure Start parents, friends and partners,
Just to update you on the last few months and to tell you all about our brand new Sure Start Centre – “The Acorns”.
At long last we moved in May and, despite teething problems – no sign and no shelves – we are beginning to feel at home. I hope you’ll pop in and see all our lovely facilities. our neighbourhood nursery by Happy Kidz. Open from 7am-6pm Monday to Friday. To look round or book places please ring the nursery direct on 710991 or Sure Start on 708953. The nursery offers full time, part time and sesional care for children
0-5years;
crèche and outdoor play area for parents attending training courses. We also provide baby massage, small play groups, a baby clinic, a childminders group and special events in the crèche;
a small computer room for short courses and drop-in sessions. Ring Anne B or Anne C on 708953 to find out more;
meeting rooms and training rooms. These can also be booked by partners and community groups;
the Methodist worship centre which is also used by Sure Start for play activities, courses and special events. This space is also available to hire for conferences. Ring us on 708953 for further details.
office space for Sure Start and some local health visitors;
a health room where our local midwifes do bookings and clinics;
our wonderful community café by Gary and Phil. This is open from 9am-3pm for hot meals, snacks and drinks and we welcome the whole community. Neighbours and friends often pop in for soup, salads, hot meals and sandwiches or just a chat with the café staff!
I know it has been a long the coming but the wait has been worthwhile. Please call and see us and find out about all the events and activities now open to Sure Start families and friends.
